Barcelona Fans Abuse Lionel Messi After Valencia Defeat

Lionel Messi may have scored his 500th career goal on Sunday, but it wasn’t enough to keep Barcelona from losing to Valencia at the Nou Camp – which a couple of furious fans were quick to remind him.

The Catalan club’s all-time top goalscorer was cheered by some waiting fans as he drove away from the match, but others were less than impressed.

One fan was clearly heard saying “Corres más ahora que en el campo”, which roughly translates to “You run more now than in the field”

Messi’s goal against Gary Neville’s former club was his first for a month, having drawn a blank in five consecutive games.

Luis Enrique’s side lost three of those five games – also failing to beat Villarreal – and it appears that Messi’s performances have started to come under increased scrutiny since last week’s Champions League exit.
