The professional boxing career of  Anthony Ogogo hampered by a serious eye injury has eventually lead to his compulsory retirement.

Though Ogogo has endured shoulder and Achilles injuries since turning professional after winning bronze at the 2012 London Olympics but the 30-year-old Olympic and Commonwealth medalist has not fought since fracturing an eye socket against Craig Cunningham in October 2016.

“I’ve given my all, everything, had seven operations, spent more money on operations on my eyes than I’ve ever earned in the boxing ring.

“I’ve re-mortgaged my house and sold my car. I just cannot do it any more.” Ogogo told newsmen.
