Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo told Paulo Dybala he ‘must’ move to Manchester United this summer if he wants to become a ‘champion’.

The Argentine is set to make a decision on a move to Old Trafford in the next 48 hours after Juventus agreed a swap deal with United that would see Romelu Lukaku move to Turin. Dybala had intended to stay in Italy this season and wants to speak to Maurizio Sarri before making a final decision on his future. The club’s decision to offload him has come as a surprise to Dybala and the Daily Mail claim he sought Ronaldo’s advice following his return to Turin yesterday.

Dybala is set to make a decision in the next 48 hours. Ronaldo is said to have told Dybala to see the move as an opportunity and left the Argentine in little doubt that a transfer to United is the right move for him. The Portugal international said United made him a ‘champion’ during his six-year stay in Manchester and that the club can do the same for Dybala, who is 25. Ronaldo understandably has a strong influence on the Juventus squad and Moise Kean sought the forward’s advice before accepting a move to Everton, while Matthijs de Ligt was convinced to move to Turin after speaking to the 33-year-old after Portugal’s clash with the Netherlands in June.
