Pakistan’s Javeria Khan remains in hospital after being struck on the jaw during Wednesday’s Women’s World Twenty20

Opener Khan, 27, was struck underneath the grille of the helmet by fast bowler Shamilia Connell and was carried off the pitch on a stretcher.

“We were really shocked by the incident,” said West Indies captain Stafanie Taylor.

“We have now been told she is fine, and that gives us relief.”

West Indies won the match by four runs.

While the rest of the Pakistan quad will fly to Delhi on Thursday, Khan has not yet been cleared to leave hospital and will join the team on a later flight before the team’s game against India on Saturday.
